LCD or Liquid Crystal Displays are the current choice for most flat TV, Flat panel computer monitors and Laptop screens, This is changing even Rumors that Apple inc. is going to change thier line of laptop displays over to use an LED Backlight (it will still be LCD just with out the flouecent tube behind it). LCD’s Require a light source from behind to make them visable, that is why they are more power hungry and less “green” than the OLED, Here is the great thing about oled displays, they have NO need for a backlight, so you can get a very thin screen that even if you drop your laptop it will hod up much much better due to the flexible nature of the OLED Process, so when you look ahead a year, these things are going to be HOT items to get, not to mention they are brighter, faster and more color accurate than anything you can get today.
